My Story…
5 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I was diagnosed there was only a 22 percent chance of living five years. Since then it has increased to 33 percent because of research and that is why I am so passionate about raising funds to drive more.
It hasn’t been the easiest road being filled with spinal surgery, a lumpectomy, brain surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, seizures and probably a hundred scans and tons of doctor appointments, but I am still here, thanks to God the great physician.
Most days now I am living a fairly normal life and I am so thankful for that.
To date fundraisers I have spearheaded have raised over $300,000. I am asking you to join me on May 31st as we walk in honor of the fight against MBC. It promises to be a day full of love, amazing memories and lots of color.
It will commence with a color powder toss and we will pass through three color stations and a bubble station. There will be lots of fun activities and new surprises this year.
I hope you can join me, but if you can‘t there is an option to donate. Thank you for joining me in the fight against MBC.

ABOUT METASTATIC BREAST CANCER
Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is stage 4 breast cancer, for which there is no cure. Globally, more than 670,000 people die each year from MBC, with more than 43,000 dying each year in the U.S. alone (117 per day). Metastatic breast cancer spreads mostly to the bones, liver, lungs, and brain, causing MBC patients to be in treatment for the rest of their lives—with only 31 percent of MBC patients in the U.S. living longer than five years. Approximately 30 percent of early-stage breast cancers recur as stage 4 MBC. While 98 percent of all breast-cancer-related deaths are from MBC, less than 13 percent of overall breast-cancer funding is currently allocated to researching metastatic breast cancer.
METAvivor, through donations and fundraising events such as this, has been able to award over $41 million to fund 230 MBC research grants. We are extremely passionate about raising money for this cause and truly thank you for helping save lives by participating in or fundraising for this event.
